First set Brixton Jamm tonight – OH MYGOD!!!!!! Totally totally totally totally AMAZING!!!!! STUNNING!!!! And whoever would have thought that I’d rock up at 7.30pm and still get a spot at the front row??! Not me, that’s for sure!!! Over at the side, but even so!!! Blimey!! What a result!! Oh God Peter it was incredible – I loved every single second of it!! WOW!!!!! What was the new song – or, at least, the song that I’ve not heard before – I tried to film it but havent checked it out yet – something like going to see your father like so many suitors before? Really really liked. God I cannot WAIT for this new album!!! (I thought I had written about that last night, but .. it seems not!) It is just Brilliant to hear that it is in production – sooooo excited!!!! I did think for a split-second tonight that I heard the start of Ticker but perhaps that was just wishful thinking!!! Anyway, I am sure that one day I shall hear you play Ticker, and indeed all the other new songs – they are just amazing, I wish you would do a gig where you just play all of them!!!

Nice article in the NME which I bought this gorgeous sunny morning in St Pauls! They are pretty fair, aren’t they, as journalists go. And I see there is another next week also! Such great pictures of you, too, you look Amazing, and so nice to see pictures of your flat – I saw the video the other morning – absolutely LOVED that d-i-s-c-o moment, just laughed and laughed and laughed!!! I was on my way to see Damien Hurst’s diamond-encrusted skull at the Tate Modern (went to his exhibition yesterday, but the skull isn’t part of it – you can see it free of charge, which I really liked, that this piece which is just expensive beyond belief, like £50 million or something equally totally past comprehension, is free for all to see!) I didn’t expect to like it, but I wanted to see it. After all, it was there, as was I! But actually it was really rather beautiful, and almost surprisingly fragile, in a way. I love it when things surprise you like that!

Also got some good pictures today thanks to the wonderful blue skies and sunshine! I was chuffed to see so many press photographers there tonight though, as my poor little instamatic really struggles under such conditions, bless! Difficult conditions for them too, I suspect, in fairness – they looked very focussed! But I am sure will have got some cracking shots – I will be intrigued to see where the pictures end up, as there were so many of them there! They nearly died with excitement when you stage-dived, Peter, I wish you could have seen it, I feel sure that they were supposed to stay in a certain place, strictly defined and never ever to be transgressed – but instinct was just too much!! And they all just ran out!! I just love that you can do that – how you enable everyone – even the press, who are basically working! – to be who they really are and do what they want to do. It is very, very special. Very, very special indeed.

Anyway, I am partaking of my first drink of the day – I never drink when I see you, only after! Thank you for an absolutely amazing, uplifting, and totally incredible evening – you truly are the BEST!!! Enjoy the wedding tomorrow – he was on really great form tonight, I thought.

I am peruntulated by your style with your last poem.

Have had some quite pressed times, and some oddness rests still above my head, a lichen in distress, some girl I invited for tunes, in the mirrored rooom, just so that I could smoke and fool with learned songs and silly rhymes.

I am a pretty cauldron seeping on emptiness refilled, everyday past the first fag.
